The Jewish Lawyers Association of Nassau County, Inc (JLA) was
established over 35 years ago in 1973. It continues to thrive as a vital component of Nassau County's legal community. JLA, created by
Jewish lawyers and judges, was born of a desire to gather members of the bench and bar around shared beliefs and promote the
Jewish values of charity (tzedakah), justice and learning.
The Jewish Lawyers Association offers access to meaningful and exciting events, educational programs and professional opportunities,
all taking place in a cordial and welcoming atmosphere. JLA Board meetings take place at the Nassau County Bar Association in Mineola.
JLA activity highlights include:

JLA hosts its Annual Installation Dinner, where new officers and board members are sworn in and formal recognition is given to one or
more of the members of the Jewish Legal Community for outstanding accomplishments in the areas of service and career dedication.

The Ecumenical Softball Game, created on a challenge by the Columbian Lawyers Association, is a friendly competition among
culturally diverse organizations within the Nassau County legal community.

The JLA BBQ, always well attended, is hosted every spring to welcome the summer season and provide the bench and bar
with an opportunity to mix and mingle just for the fun of it.

The Annual Chanukah Event is different every year and ranges from fun for the kids to serious topics about Jewish heroism through the ages,
and the traditional latkes are always part of the dinner selections.

Annual Ecumenical Dinners attract attendees from many of Nassau County legal community's ethnic organizations.
